Quotes

A quote from the calculator is based on the word or page count measured from what you provided, at the rates published on the pricing page on the day. If the material you send to work on differs materially from what was measured, we requote before starting rather than invoicing a surprise.

A quote holds for 30 days.

Deposits and payment

A 25% deposit books the work and is deducted from the final invoice. The balance is invoiced on delivery and payable within 14 days unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

The deposit is refundable in full if we have not started work. Once work has started it covers the work done to that point.

Delivery and revisions

Turnaround is stated on your quote. Rush is a named 48-hour option at the published surcharge.

Every project includes one round of revisions against the agreed brief. Corrections to our errors are not a revision round and are always free. Changes to the source material after work has started are new work and are quoted as such.

Rights in the work

You own your source material and you own the finished translation, typeset files, and audio once they are paid for in full. We claim no rights in your book.

We keep the glossary, style memory, and pronunciation tables built for your project so future volumes match, and we will hand you a copy on request.

Showing your work

We do not show any part of your project publicly without your explicit permission, tracked per project. Permission can be withdrawn at any time and the material comes down.

What we will not do

We do not machine-translate the Qur'an, and we do not put depictions of people on covers for religious titles. These are not negotiable, including by a paying client.

We will decline work we do not think we can do well, and say why, rather than accept it and subcontract it quietly.

Liability

We take care, and we fix our mistakes. Our liability for any project is limited to the fees paid for that project. We are not liable for print runs committed before you have approved a proof — always approve the proof.

Governing law

Omni Vox Media is registered in the United Kingdom, and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
